Matt, can you please call me or let me know via PM if you can get me some sort of press pass deal, or some way to get me pit access? Ive been waiting for an excuse to shoot all day.

You shouldn't need any passes.
You can pull right in and park in the pits.

Only thing you may need in a helmet (if you decide to ride along).

It's probably too late. I'd certainly try though if you're interested.
If it's closed, you could always come out and try to get a ride along with someone.

Normally I think the day runs for around $400.
You'll get 4 runs for the day

Brian
12-01-2006, 08:24 AM
$275 for Sat, $375 for Sun, $600 for both

Nice meeting ya dean.
Ped how was brians and kevins car after there last runs?

pEd
12-03-2006, 10:03 AM
^^ David's car was fine. He ended up having Kevin ride along with him on the last session.
Kevin's car, on the other hand, had fried his brakes. He had to press the brake pedal to the floor to get any brake action (he's running Blue, Stainless lines, Powerslot rotors, and Hawk HPS pads).

Track day was a blast, this time in group B - which was much more fun than group C. Unfortunately, my strength is corner entry instead of straightaway speed (which is odd for a V8) so it is difficult to pass since you can only pass on the straights (before the braking zones). I did manage a few passes though, which was very fun. Keith, Mark and Ped - enjoyed having y'all as passengers! Ped, that 3rd run was the best though, when we were chasing Kevin down for about six laps and finally making the last pass in 1 (practically drifting all the way through...) Clay, maybe you can ride along next time. Brain, thanks so much for sticking around and recording my lap times. It was interesting to see how they dropped each lap (especially after I got around Kevin and could go deeper into the turns). Hopefully we'll see a big improvement next time - I'll have a few more mods. As much fun as I had in my Cobra, to be honest, it was a little disheartening when slowwrx came around me on the back stretch @ 110mph like I was standing still. Ped, keep working on me, maybe one day I'll sell both cars and just get an STi and be done with it!

David, great meeting you. I'll certainly ride along next time y'all get out to the track. +1 for selling both cars and getting yourself into an STi...you WILL NOT be disappointed. Ped, don't let up on him. ;) STi FTW :D :bigthumb:

Dont worry about more power, check out www.maximummotorsports.com.

Just pick up one of their grip boxes and you will be good to go.

You guys will have to come out again, I felt like I was leaving a lot on the table, I think with the race gas tune, more suspension tweaking, and a little more time at Road A I should be able to get it into the 1:39s

This was a Panoz driving / racing school. I could be wrong on the specific "school" name. What matter usually is the club that hosts these events.

Panoz is a big group, along with SCCA and the BMW car club. I couldn't tell you where to start looking for scheduling.

There won't be anymore track days from Panoz until early March sometime.
That'll be about the time Lil' Tally should be re-opening

A little birdy told me there might be a SRDEC at little tally earlier than that.

Hmmm

I also heard there might be a new chase car filming this year.

Don't worry, I'm very familiar with MM. I'd love to get the road and track or maximum grip box. I got the Ford Racing Bullitt suspension kit before the last track day which included shocks, springs and swaybars, so I won't need a whole kit (although the H&R springs and Bilstein shocks in the MM kits would have been better. I'll probably get rear control arms and a panhard bar sometime and maybe a torque arm. The MM suspension goodies would definitely help but I still need more power in the straights - especialy when I see you coming behind me.

More power is always nice, but Ill take more grip anyday.

Oh, yeah. I just gotta watch the budget. And after Scott's warning, I may want better brake pads. ;)

I think I want harnesses before the next one, though. I hated sliding outa my seat at the bottom of the back straight. Anyone used Schroth 4-point harnesses out there?

Dean, good meeting you out there.

You can always look into a CG LOck as well (versus a 4-point).

+1 for the CG lock. It is a great little device. I used it in my '03 at Little Tally and it kept me in my seat pretty well.
