Keep throwing unsual CEL

the Check engine light keeps cutting on still. I talked to chris(rolling_trip) about this awhile back. I have been testing around on it because whenever i would try and run the code it would have cut off. Everytime i get around 1/4 a tank of gas or less the light cuts on. When i fill up it cuts off. I have decided that its the sensor that involves the gas tank. Yea i know thank you captain obvious:)....anywayz anyone know what causes this? and should i be worried to fix it?

Maybe a bum gas cap? Get the code pulled at AutoZone or something (free) and report back.

u should be able to pull history codes

Yeah definately need a code from the car, autozone is free on that.

i thought whenever the ecu reset you couldnt pull codes?

i dont think u can pull codes after the ecu reset... but if the CEL comes up and then disappears, u can still pull it

If you re-set the ecu, then the most recent CELs will dissapear. However, more than likely the problem will reoccur, recreating the CEL. Just blow the cel and head on over to autozone and get the code to see whats going on.

Dont Reset Your Ecu If U Wanna Pull The Code..resetting The Ecu Erases The Last Check Engine Code

hmm ok so just basically go to autozone when i hit 1/4 a tank again? haha...ill do that thanks guys.
